An Entertainment Sports Program and Its Impact on Moral and Intellectual Behavior and Decision-Making to Reduce the Phenomenon of Drugs Abuse among Young People aged 15 to 25 Years

Abstract

The aim of the study is the effectiveness of an entertaining sports program in ethical and intellectual behavior and to enhance decision-making skills to reduce the tendency to use drugs in young people aged 15-25 years. And decision-making at the research sample. The researcher used the semi-experimental approach with a pre-designed, one-group design, where a deliberate sample of (17) young men from the Social Rehabilitation Center in Baghdad/Channel was applied. One week, including sports activities (football, basketball, volleyball), physical and recreational exercises, as well as educational workshops on drug damage and life skills related to stress control and decision-making. The data were collected using questionnaires to measure the attitude towards drugs, ethical behaviors, decision-making tests, as well as behavioral observation. Hence the importance of the research, that sports and recreational activities have an effective role in reducing the phenomenon of drugs and guiding ethical behavior.
