Abstract


AbstractPhysical education is an integrated approach that focuses on all the physical, mental, social, and emotional aspects of individual's development through different physical activities. Thus, the meaning of physical or sport education is far more deeper than games or physical exercises. As practical exams approach, the students live in a state of anxiety and confusion which leads to a period of nervousness, losing focus, low self-esteem, fear of losing and not achieving desirable result. Anxiety of not performing the required skill is a case that affects most of the students, yet with different degrees. The present study aims at investigating the level of variation in anxiety before practical exams between some male and female students from College of Physical Education and Sport Science and College of Basic Education- Department of Physical Education in Diyala University. The researchers used descriptive methodology as it fits the nature and problem of the study. The sample of the study consisted of 60 male and female students from both colleges. The researchers found that the male students of the second year did not get positive results in practical exam anxiety test while the female students of the same year got positive results of the same test. It was recommended to pay attention to the psychological aspect during conducting practical exams and the need to conduct other studies on other psychological scales.
