Sports intolerance and its relationship to psychological pollution among students of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Zakho University, as a case study

Abstract

The search aims to identify the sport prejudice among students of physical education department in the faculty of education of university of Zakho, and its relationship with their psychological pollution and some demographic var-iables. The sample of research consisted of (128) students selected randomly from 4 stages. For this purpose researchers prepared 2 scales, a scale for measurement of sport prejudice, including (20) items, and a scale for meas-urement of psychological pollution, including (52) items, where extracted psy-chometric properties, validity and reliability by using test-retest method which gained (0.70) and for the purpose of processing data was used appro-priated statistical methods: Pearson correlation, one and two tailed t-tests, and ANOVA. The results showed that: firstly: the sample of research has no kind of sport prejudice and psychological pollution in general. Secondly: there is a statistically significant differences between their sport prejudice and variables of (gender), at the benefit of male students, and class, at the benefit of 3nd and 4th classes, and the (age) at the benefit of the students in 24th years old and above, and also found there is not statistically significant differ-ences between students sport prejudice and ( students' economic status, and their number of family persons) variables, and about the psychological pollu-tion there is not any statistically significant differences between students in it and study’s variables. And also results showed that there is not relationship between the sport prejudice and psychological pollution among research’s sample.
