Psychological security and its relationship to the performance of the backhand short serve in badminton for players

Abstract

     The study aimed to identify the relationship between psychological security and the short back serve for badminton players under 15 years old who are continuing training at the specialized school for age groups in Babil Governorate for the 2022-2023 sports season, with an average age of 13.5 years and a standard deviation of 0.567. The researchers used the descriptive approach using the correlational method on a sample of 20 players from the specialized school. Maslow’s psychological security scale form was distributed to them after verifying its validity for the research sample. After that, the researchers conducted a performance accuracy test for the short back serve, and the obtained data was processed using the bag. SPSS statistics, and after transcribing the data, the researchers presented the results and extracted the correlation coefficient, which appeared with an inverse significant correlation of (-7.57). After that, several conclusions were discussed, the most important of which is that the research sample enjoys an average level of psychological security, and that there is an inverse significant correlation between psychological security. And the short back serve for the players in the research sample. In light of this, the researchers recommended: the need to pay attention to the psychological security of badminton players under 15 years old to obtain positive results in competitions
