The effect of the effectiveness of using the skill mastery learning method and the possibility of retaining it with the skills of the snatch and the jerk in weightlifting for students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences

Abstract

The research aims to know the effect of the effectiveness of using the method of learning by mastery of skills, the possibility of the curriculum used in learning weightlifting skills for students, and the extent of retention of those skills. The importance of the research lies in the fact that the effectiveness and use of the method of learning by mastery of skills can be effective in acquiring learning, and thus this may lead to its positive effect. On the student’s level of performance, which allows the teacher to know the extent to which this skill can be retained in memory. The research problem may raise some questions, including: Is it possible for students to obtain mastery of the skill after passing the practical tests for those weightlifting skills and what is the extent to which they retain those skills? As for the research methodology The researcher used the experimental method to suit the research, and the research population was chosen as first-year students from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Kufa for the academic year 2022-2023, who numbered (75) students. The sample was chosen for the two groups, the control and experimental groups, by a random method. The simple and total number is (60) students, divided equally The main experiment was started on 12/19/2022, and then the results were extracted statistically. The researcher reached several conclusions, the most important of which was the effect of using the two approaches according to the method of learning by skill mastery and the method used by the teacher in developing the two skills. The experimental group excelled. that implemented the curriculum The experimental group that applied the curriculum also showed an advantage in the extent to which it was possible to retain that learning over the control group, and several recommendations were made, the most important of which is the need to pay attention to the effectiveness of using the method of learning by skill mastery by weightlifting teachers in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences because of its advantages.
