The effect of the cognitive apprenticeship strategy on learning the skill of hitting volleyball for female students

Abstract

The research aimed to prepare learning units using the cognitive apprenticeship strategy to learn the skill of hitting volleyball for female students. Identifying the impact of the cognitive apprenticeship strategy on learning the skill of hitting volleyball for female students. The researcher used the experimental method as it was appropriate to the research problem to be studied and in the manner of designing two equivalent groups (experimental and control) with pre- and post-tests. The research population is determined by the third-year female students in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls at the University of Baghdad, for the academic year (2022-2023), who number (104). Female students, and the research sample was chosen randomly. (10) female students were chosen to conduct the exploratory experiment, and (40) female students were chosen to represent the main research sample, distributed into two sections (B-C), Section (B) (20) female students who represented the experimental group, and Section (B). (c) (20) female students represented the control group. Thus, the percentage of the research sample was 48.08%. The researcher excluded female students who failed, postponed, and were absent from the tests. After the skill used in the research was determined based on the vocabulary of the volleyball subject prescribed within the curriculum for the first semester for female students. Third in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls for the academic year (2022/2023). The researcher conducted her study within the first semester, so the skill of crushing multiplication was chosen because it is one of the skills prescribed in the first semester. After the end of the experiment with post-tests, the results were processed with the SPSS system, and the conclusions and applications of the cognitive apprenticeship strategy had a positive role in learning the skill of hitting volleyball for the female students. The exploratory questions that the researcher adopted within the groups, discussion, and dialogue contributed to learning the skill of overwhelming multiplication. The various exercises prepared by the researcher had an impact on achieving learning. Adopt this strategy in learning volleyball skills. Conducting other research and studies on other samples and for other educational stages.
