Abstract

The researchers noticed, through their review of many previous studies, sources and references, and through personal interviews with those with experience and specialization in the field of teaching methods and swimming and those working in this field, and through the researchers’ field experience, the researchers discovered the lack of use of educational strategies and methods and the lack of diversity in the use of teaching methods. Others take into account individual and mental capabilities and differences in acquiring the skillful performance of freestyle swimming, and the specificity of this sport as it is learned in an environment different from the normal environment. This is what led to the difficulty of learning these skills. Hence, the researchers addressed this problem by using a cognitive modeling strategy supported by hypermedia in acquiring the skillful performance of swimming. Free for the purpose of achieving better results. The study aimed to: 1. Prepare educational units for the cognitive modeling strategy in freestyle swimming 2. Identifying the effect of a strategy supported by hypermedia in acquiring students’ freestyle swimming skills. The two research hypotheses were: There were statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups in acquiring the level of skill performance in free swimming in the post-test. The experimental method was used because it suits the nature of the research, as this method is considered the best that can be followed to reach accurate results, as it is the only method that can truly test the hypotheses of cause or effect relationships. Conclusions: 1- The cognitive modeling strategy has a positive effect on the acquisition of skill performance in free swimming for students. 2- The effectiveness of the educational units prepared by the researchers. 3-The technological aspect and multimedia helped learners correctly understand the information and build a correct cognitive structure.
