The effect of the practical demonstration strategy on cognitive motivation and the performance of some skills using the rhythmic gymnastics sign tool for female students

Abstract

The research aims to identify the cognitive motivation of first-year female students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences/University of Babylon. Preparing educational units using practical presentations on cognitive motivation and performing some basic skills using the shaper tool in rhythmic gymnastics for female students in the first stage of the academic year (2022-2023). And to identify the effect of the prepared educational units on cognitive motivation and the performance of some basic skills using the sign tool in rhythmic gymnastics for female students in the research sample. As for the research hypothesis: There are no statistically significant differences between the results of the pre- and post-tests for the experimental and control research groups in cognitive motivation and the performance of some basic skills using the shaper tool in rhythmic gymnastics for female students. There are no statistically significant differences between the experimental and control group in the post-tests in cognitive motivation and the performance of some basic skills with the tester tool in rhythmic gymnastics for female students. The experimental approach was used with a two-group equal design with a pre- and post-test to apply the vocabulary of the practical demonstration method.  The research community included female students in the first stage of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences / University of Babylon, who numbered (25) students, and one student was excluded due to injury. It was divided into two samples: the first (an exploratory sample) consisted of (4) female students, while the (main sample) consisted of (20) female students, i.e. a percentage of (80%). It was divided equally into two experimental and control groups, and the cognitive motivation scale of (Mahmoud Matar Ali Al-Badrani) was used. It includes (58) statements that the individual answers according to a scale consisting of three alternatives. The educational program was applied according to the strategy of practical demonstrations, which is based on the real performance of good female players from other stages of the college, and explanatory films were shown and drawings were made in the form of practical presentations that represent the real and realistic performance of all the basic skills with the marker tool. The conclusions were that the experimental group was superior in the cognitive motivation of the female students in Rhythmic gymnastics. The experimental group excelled in performing some basic skills in rhythmic gymnastics for female students
