Abstract

This research aims to investigate the effectiveness of artificial intelligence–based decision support systems among faculty members at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences – Al-Mustansiriya University. The study adopted a descriptive analytical approach, using a structured questionnaire as the primary tool for data collection. The first chapter presented the general framework of the study, including its significance, problem statement, objectives, hypotheses, and research domains. The second chapter described the methodology, identifying the study population and sample, as well as the instruments used in measurement. The questionnaire was designed to cover several dimensions: system quality, information quality, ease of use, user satisfaction, and the system’s impact on decision-making. Appropriate statistical methods were applied, including the t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient.

The third chapter analyzed the results, which revealed varying levels of responses. System quality and its impact on decision-making were rated high, whereas information quality and user satisfaction were at moderate levels. Ease of use scored the lowest. The results also indicated different correlation levels between the dimensions, with the strongest relationship found between information quality and decision-making effectiveness.

The fourth chapter included conclusions emphasizing the strengths of the system in enhancing decision accuracy and effectiveness, alongside challenges related to data quality and usability. Recommendations were made to improve the system’s interface, regularly update databases, and provide continuous training programs to enhance faculty members’ skills and increase their satisfaction.

Overall, this study provides a comprehensive perspective on the effectiveness of AI-based decision support systems in academia and offers practical recommendations to maximize their benefits in improving both academic and administrative performance.
