The reality of organizational excellence in student activities departments at some Baghdad universities from the perspective of the employees

Abstract

The research aimed to: develop an organizational excellence scale for student activities departments in selected Baghdad universities from the perspective of employees; apply this scale to the student activities departments in selected Baghdad universities from the employees' perspective; and identify the current state of organizational excellence in these departments from the employees' perspective. The researchers adopted a descriptive survey methodology, deemed most suitable for the nature of the research problem. The research population consisted of employees in the student activities departments of public universities in Baghdad. The sample comprised 190 individuals from four universities (University of Baghdad, Al-Mustansiriya University, the Iraqi University, and the University of Technology). The researchers developed the scale by formulating 30 statements to obtain the results, tailored to the nature of the research population's work. They employed the Likert scale in constructing the scale questionnaire and used a five-point scale to express the degree of agreement with each statement: strongly agree, agree, neutral, disagree, and strongly disagree. Following this, the scientific foundations for the scale were established. The scale was finalized with (26) items. After its development, the researchers administered the final version of the scale to a research sample of (85) individuals. The researchers concluded that there was a statistically significant positive level of organizational excellence in student activity departments at some Baghdad universities, from the employees' perspective. The researchers recommended the necessity of strengthening organizational excellence practices in student activity departments by adopting modern administrative methods that contribute to improving institutional performance.
