Self-Confidence and Its Relationship to the Competitive Behavior of Premier League Coaches of Basketball in Iraq

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the level of confidence of coaches of excellent class clubs in basketball in themselves for the sports season 2020/2021، as well as to identify their level of competitive behavior، as well as to identify the relationship between self-confidence and competitive behavior، and the researcher assumed the existence of a statistically significant relationship between self-confidence and competitive behavior. For coaches of excellent basketball clubs in Iraq, the researcher used the descriptive approach in both survey and correlational methods for their relevance and the nature of the current research problem. The research community may consist of (12) coaches whose clubs participate in the basketball premier league for the sports season (2020-2021). In light of the research results and their discussion، the researcher reached the following conclusions: 1-Coaches of excellent basketball clubs enjoy a high level of self-confidence. 2- Coaches of excellent basketball clubs enjoy a high level of competitive behavior.3-There is a positive relationship between self-confidence and competitive behavior among coaches of excellent class clubs in basketball. the researcher recommended the following :1 - The need to pay attention to the psychological aspect of coaches by putting . 2- them in psychological preparation courses to face psychological pressures during competition and training for clubs. 3- Enhancing the coaches' self-confidence by providing an atmosphere and a sports environment that stimulates success.
