Building a measure of career guidance for secondary school principals from the point of view of physical education teachers In Saladin Governorate

Abstract

The aimed of study:


1- Building a scale (career guidance) for physical education teachers in Salah al-Din Governorate.



  1. 2. Identifying the level of career guidance among physical education teachers in Salah al-Din Governorate.


  The current research population consisted of (353) physical education teachers in secondary schools in Salah al-Din Governorate for the academic year (2023-2024), as they were chosen in a deliberate manner, and the construction sample included (247) physical education teachers in Salah al-Din Governorate, and they were chosen randomly. The simple (lottery) method represented (70%) of the total research population, and (22) teachers were excluded because their forms were not included, representing (6.23%), so that the construction sample consisted of (225) teachers, distributed as follows:


(30) teachers represent the exploratory application sample and represent (49.8%) of the research community, and (195) teachers represent the construction sample and represent (55.24%) of the research community. The application sample included: (106) physical education teachers. In Salah al-Din Governorate, with a percentage of (30.02%) of the total research community.


     The researchers used statistical data through (arithmetic mean, standard deviation, percentage, t-test for two independent samples, Pearson's simple correlation coefficient, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, and the hypothesised mean equation).


The researchers reached a number of conclusions, the most important of which are:


1- Secondary school principals in Salah al-Din Governorate have the ability to positively influence the behaviors of their teaching staff according to the capabilities they possess in career guidance.


2- There is a discrepancy in the level of readiness of secondary school principals in Salah al-Din Governorate to carry out their job duties, including follow-up and job guidance for the performance of physical education teachers and enhancing them through effective communication.


In light of the conclusions, the researchers reached a number of recommendations, the most important of which are:


1- Encouraging secondary school administrations to adopt the foundations and dimensions of career guidance used in this study to manage and lead their schools and their staff, especially physical education teachers, to develop their level of job performance and professional competence.


2- Adopting awareness, educational and development programs prepared by the critical friend supervisor of secondary school administrations to develop and enhance their level of career guidance to develop the effectiveness of the performance of physical and social education teachers.
